Why Amorgos?
Amorgos is often called the hidden gem of the Cyclades. With more churches than inhabitants (365!), cliffside monasteries, secret coves, and traditional villages, it’s no surprise that Luc Besson filmed The Big Blue here. Ai watched this film countless times growing up, and this magical island has long lived in her heart. Now she invites you to experience its beauty firsthand.
Our retreat center, Aegialis Hotel & Spa, is a 5-star, family-owned eco-resort renowned for its hospitality, wellness amenities, and panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. This serene, luxurious sanctuary features saltwater pools, organic gardens, a world-class spa, and some of the most beautiful yoga shalas in Greece.
A day in the Life on Retreat
Each morning begins with an invigorating yoga practice in a sun-filled studio overlooking the sparkling Aegean Sea. Afterward, nourish yourself with a hearty Greek breakfast crafted from fresh, local, organic ingredients.
Some days include fun excursions—hiking along ancient trails to hilltop villages, visiting centuries-old monasteries, meeting a local herbalist, swimming in hidden coves, or exploring artisan shops and charming boutiques.
Other days are yours to shape. Whether you're craving stillness or adventure, you’ll have the freedom to move at your own rhythm. Lounge at the spa, paddle board in the bay, hike nearby trails, nap by the pool, or wander through nearby villages. Quiet time on your private balcony or beachside hammock with a good book is always an option.
On non-excursion days, we’ll come together again in the late afternoon for a grounding practice of restorative yoga, pranayama, and meditation. Evenings culminate in a nourishing, family-style Greek dinner under the stars—followed by stargazing, live local music, or meaningful conversations with new friends.

Logistics
🛡️ Travelers’ Insurance
I highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance for your retreat. A good policy can protect you in the event of unexpected circumstances such as trip delays, cancellations, lost luggage, or theft, as well as medical emergencies while abroad.
Life is unpredictable—flights get delayed, ferries are weather-dependent, and occasionally, plans need to change. Having travel insurance allows you to navigate those uncertainties with greater peace of mind, knowing you're covered. Some policies even reimburse you for non-refundable retreat costs in the event of illness or other covered emergencies.
Please check with your provider to ensure your plan includes coverage for trip interruption, baggage loss, emergency medical care, and evacuation. Many credit cards offer basic coverage, but we suggest reviewing the details or purchasing a standalone policy that fits your needs.
Feeling safe and supported while traveling allows you to fully relax and enjoy the retreat experience.
✈️ Traveling Tips
To ensure a smooth and stress-free arrival, we highly recommend flying into Athens at least one day before the retreat begins. Ferries to Amorgos depart early in the morning, and arriving the night before gives you time to settle in and avoid the risk of missed connections. If you plan to stay in Athens the night before, I’d be happy to help arrange ferry tickets so we can all travel to the island together.
On the return side, please avoid booking your flight home on the final day of the retreat, as it takes several hours to get back to Athens from Amorgos. Ferries can be delayed due to weather or sea conditions, so staying an extra night in Athens will make your departure far less stressful.
Many retreaters also take this opportunity to explore more of Greece or Europe before or after the retreat. Whether it's the ruins of Athens, the beaches of the Cyclades, or a quick hop to another European city, we encourage you to expand your journey and make the most of this magical part of the world.Retreat Agreement & Cancellation Policy
