Why Amorgos?
Tucked away in the Cyclades, Amorgos remains one of Greece’s most unspoiled islands—a place where time slows and everyday worries fade. Here, dramatic cliffs give way to hidden swimming coves, whitewashed villages perch on rugged hillsides, and centuries-old monasteries overlook the Aegean’s endless blue.
Our retreat home, Aegialis Hotel & Spa, is a 5-star, family-owned eco-resort known for its warm hospitality, panoramic views, and commitment to wellness. Perched above the bay of Aegiali, it offers light-filled yoga shalas, a spa with saltwater pools and hammam, an organic garden, and thoughtfully designed rooms that invite deep rest.
We’ve explored many Greek islands, but Amorgos keeps calling us back. We can’t wait to share its peace, beauty, and magic with you.
A day in the Life on Retreat
Each morning begins with an energizing yoga practice in a light-filled studio overlooking the sparkling Aegean Sea. You'll then enjoy a hearty Greek breakfast made with fresh, local, organic ingredients—nourishing body and heart.
Some days invite exploration: hike along ancient footpaths to hilltop villages, visit centuries-old monasteries, swim in secluded coves, meet a local herbalist, or browse artisan shops and charming boutiques.
Other days are yours to shape. Whether you're seeking stillness or movement, you'll have the freedom to follow your own rhythm—lounge in the spa, paddleboard across the bay, nap by the pool, wander coastal trails, or curl up with a book on your balcony or in a beachside hammock.
On quieter days, we’ll reconvene in the late afternoon for a grounding session of restorative yoga, pranayama, and meditation—gently winding down as the sun sets over the sea.
Evenings are a celebration of connection: gather for a nourishing, family-style Greek dinner under the stars, followed by stargazing, live local music, or heartfelt conversation with new friends.

Logistics
⛴️ Getting to Amorgos
Amorgos doesn’t have an airport, but there are several beautiful ways to get there from the U.S. Most people fly into Athens, but you can also arrive via other islands if you want to explore the country before/after the retreat. We’d be happy to consult with you about your travel plans and help arrange ferry tickets. FYI, hotel check in time is after 3pm and check out is before 11am.
Option 1: Fly to Athens → Ferry to Amorgos
Fly into Athens (ATH) at least one day before the retreat.
Stay overnight, then take a morning ferry from Piraeus Port to Amorgos (6–9 hrs).
Option 2: Fly to Santorini → Ferry to Amorgos
Fly to Santorini (JTR) via a European hub or Athens.
Take a seasonal fast ferry to Amorgos (1.5–2.5 hrs).
Great option if you’d like to explore Santorini pre-retreat.
Option 3: Fly to Naxos → Ferry to Amorgos
Fly to Naxos (JNX) via Athens.
Take a ferry to Amorgos (2.5–4 hrs).
Ideal for a quieter island experience before the retreat.
Option 4: Island-Hop to Amorgos
Already in the Cyclades? Ferries also run from Mykonos, Paros, Ios, and more (seasonal schedules vary).
Return Tip
Please don’t book your return flight to the US on the last day of the retreat—ferries can be delayed. Stay one extra night in Athens or your departure city for a smooth travel experience.
🛡️ Travelers’ Insurance
I strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect your retreat investment. A good policy can cover unexpected events such as trip delays, cancellations, lost luggage, theft, or medical emergencies while abroad.
Life is unpredictable—flights can be delayed, ferries are weather-dependent, and sometimes plans change due to illness or family emergencies. Travel insurance gives you peace of mind, and in many cases, reimburses you for non-refundable retreat costs if something unforeseen prevents you from attending.
Be sure your policy includes trip interruption, baggage loss, emergency medical care, and evacuation. While some credit cards offer basic coverage, we recommend confirming the details or purchasing a standalone policy that fits your needs.
To ensure you're covered—especially if you want Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) protection—purchase your insurance as soon as you make your initial deposit. Most providers require this timing and will ask you to insure the total cost of the trip, even if you haven’t paid it all yet. You can update your policy later as you make additional payments.📧 Communication
By registering, you consent to receive emails with trip logistics, planning tips, and occasional updates leading up to the retreat.
If you have any questions before registering, please reach out. I want you to feel clear and confident about your commitment!
