About Chef Amy

Chef Amy started cooking from a young age, out of interest in health and vitality. Thanks to a year abroad in Rome, 3 years in Japan, and 2 yrs of backpacking thru SE Asia, Amy got inspired by the delicious street food  and culinary traditions of Italy, Japan and SE Asia and followed her dream to v become a chef.

A little luck, a little divine mystery  led to her first restaurant in Jack London Village in 1994, The Happy Belly, then Venus in 2000, then Revival.

The great produce of Berkeley’s Farmers  Markets inspired Amy to cook from this vibrant, local, seasonal produce to create a modern California Bistro.
